Bruce Pennington Book Covers (a filmclip!)

Just playing around with moviemaker and decided to create a filmic slideshow of my Bruce Pennington cover collection to celebrate my Flickr photostream's 100,000th view! I think it turned out quite atmospherically with the score underneath (from 'Sunshine'). Enjoy!

Finally, my first Robert McGinnis Book Covers!

After two years of collecting, had a great score this week with my first Robert McGinnis covers! Considering he illustrated over 1200 paperbacks, it had always been surprising to me that I hadn't found more in the wild here in Sydney, still thrilled at the beauty of these covers created in the mid-1980s. Usually I wouldn't go anywhere near 80s romance covers, but these are pretty spectacular indeed.

Bill Ewington Books

It appears that Australian publishing house "Bill Ewington Books" was most active in the early 1970s focusing on science-fiction (and a sprinkling of sexploitation). I don't know how many books they published, but I always get a lot of joy in finding new titles (and their covers!) from this company. In my attempt to research who Bill Ewington is (was?) I've found an obituary for a 'William Bruce Ewington", late of Gordon in 1977. Was this the late Bill Ewington? If you know of anything, please let me know!
